“It’s hairy alright!” Yeah no shit it is!
Niki Lauda, ein grossartiger Sportler und ein toller Mensch. Er hat immer sein bestes gegeben und blieb dabei immer sehr menschlich . Er war ein Idol und Held zugleich . RIP 🕯️🙏🏼
Niki lauda😂😂😂
That's not race pace, is it?
51 Driver deaths on this track before the last Gran Prix race was held in 1976, the race in which Niki Lauda was so badly burned in a horrendous crash. After that, the track was completely redesigned to make it much shorter and safer.
Wacky Races
È poi ci chiamiato. Gente che sa mangiare spaghetti. Correvi nella Ferrari. Perché tutto questo rancore? Perché?.....
That's a Formula Vee (the camera car) on track with Hahne's F2 entry. Maybe I should dust off my old Zink C4 and enter it in the 1968 German Grand Prix.
Merzario is the real hero..
Alongside Brett Lunger.
I wasn't even an F1 fan when this happened, and I was heartbroken when I saw the crash on the news, I knew he was going to be disfigured, IF he survived. Then when he came back to race 6 weeks later I was in awe for his courage, and have been fan ever since. He was one hell of a man. 🙏 RIP Niki ❤
That Formula Vee car onboard....!!
1:09 That must be one of the car spinning audio that was used in a lot of apps, games, or TV shows, or something

What doc is this?
"NIKI! CAN YOU HEAR ME NIKI!" -All the drivers that stopped.

😢
THAT CAR CRASH WAS VERY NASTY AND NIKI LAUDA WAS VERY BRAVE TO CONTINUE RACING SO SOON AFTER HIS HORRIFYING CRASH ! ! !👍
THE DAYS WHEN F1 RACING REALLY WAS RACING WITH NO BORING HEALTH & SAFETY RESTRICTIONS TO SPOIL THE FUN ! ! !👍
YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY SAFETY FEATURES AS YOU LIKE F1 WILL ALWAYS BE DANGEROUS ! ! !🤔
Se ele desobedecesse ia ficar queimado com as equipes. A vitória a qualquer custo ia ter um alto custo. Outra equipe de ponta também faz esse tipo de jogo, e se o piloto não joga, pra que contratar? .
Grazie Merzario , guerriero , orgoglio italiano . Lauda , che riposi in pace .
Eu
I saw it!! To this day, no one persuades me otherwise, and it is that they sabotaged it!! He was and is the best in F1 !! Nobody better than him 🌟👑
I remember reading a British book written very soon after this praising James Hunt for winning F1 title that year. It was clear to me that a guy who'd suffered as terribly as Lauda (recieving Last Rites several times, skin grafts & having his skin peel off on his clothing during races) was the real hero that season. He pulled out of the rain-soaked Japanese Grand Prix, citing the dangerous conditions, and Hunt won by a single point. Lauda was the hero of that story, not Hunt. One of the very greats, if not the greatest.
Incredible
Rubens barrigudo era um Zé ruela
these are not 1967 season f1 cars. they are some minor formula or 1962/65
Formula Vee (VW engines) is the camera car, the car in front is an F2 car I think
@@hmdwgf 1967 not 1987..i ve corrected the previous message
Hola heikki
Without Arturo Merzario's bravery we would not have been able to enjoy many more years with the legend. R.I.P.
Brett Lunger is the driver who grabbed Lauda by the shoulders and lifted him up, which helped Merzario (finally) unbuckle Lauda's seatbelts.
Merzario said in an interview, he could only undo the belts after Lauda passed out and his body relaxed.
Just think about it. Without Niki there wouldve never been a Mercedes dominance and maybe also never a Lewis Hamilton
00:44, Rush actress who played Marlene has a very good likeness. Her hairdo looks just like hers.
Is it this track that was to dangerous and drivers refused to race and went on strike if changes wasnt made to the track and safety after mike hawthorn burnt to death?..
You might be thinking of Roger Williamson but that wasn't this track. He died in a fiery crash at Zandvoort in 1973. He survived the initial crash but was trapped in the fire and perished after a slow response from track officials and emergency services. This led to increased safety demands from drivers that did eventually impact the Nurburgring. The FIA and Drivers began seriously questioning the Nurburgring / Nordschleife track by the 70's and it was decided it would be dropped for the 1977 session due to logistics and safety concerns. In the last race in '76, reigning champion Niki Lauda attempted to lead a boycott due to poor safety arrangements, but the drivers voted for the race to go on and Lauda famously crashed in poor conditions. He was trapped in his burning car before fellow drivers helped rescue him. He suffered serious burns to his face, lung damage, and given a slim chance of survival. But Lauda fought hard and only missed two races before returning. He died in 2019, partly as a result of the lingering damage to his lungs, and F1 races have never been back on the Nordschleife. (Mike Hawthorn retired from racing following the 1958 season and died three months later in a car crash on public roads in England. His teammate Peter Collins died at this track that season after losing control and being thrown from the car.)
It was Peter Collins, Hawthorn’s best friend who died here. But they eventually boycotted the Nurburgring some years later.
RIP LEGEND
😧😧 Holy…. I’ve seen GoPro footage of my dad falling off the bike during track day (patch of the track was colder due to tree shadows and his tires contracted and slipped out during one run), and that was bad. But this video is insane- I can’t believe the guy survived although obviously I’m glad he did. People glamorize F1 drivers and MotoGp competitors but I feel like people don’t realize how absolutely talented and obsessed those people are, nor do they fathom the extreme level of risk and danger they assume. You don’t just get to your big race and say no, won’t do it. People are counting on you, you have something to prove, you got a shot thousands of others have worked equally hard to get and didn’t. You don’t say no, you say a prayer and get going.

Music?
Great sportsmanship and respect to rescue him
Gotta love the stock sounds they used…
😱😭🤕🤕
The real green hell before any barriers or safety measures at all, the drivers of this era must have had balls of steel.
quel giorno le sospensioni si ruppero e lauda picchiò contro il muro
Este é o legado do Barrichello
His wife was very attractive.
Me preguntó cómo Lauda logro sobrevivir a se choque que prácticamente casi lo mata
Just went and watched Grosjean today and I had to come here straight after
